Awards of the Barony of Jararvellir

The Award of the Liaison Poisson
(Fieldless) In pale dependant from a label dovetailed of five points azure a fish haurient Or. Awarded to those gentles who have provided exceptional service by acting as a liaison between the SCA and the modern world, for the good of the Barony and the Society. The badge was registered in August 2008 via Northshield.
The Award of the Wellspring
Azure, a barbel Or within an annulet and a bordure argent. Awarded to gentles whose talent, generosity, or service enriches the Barony in a significant and consistent way.
The Order of the Alastair’s Lamp
Azure, a barbel maintaining a lantern, a bordure Or. Entry into this Order is offered to those gentles who have done exceptional work in creating or revitalizing a Baronial guild, or providing exceptional service to a guild.
The Order of the Embattled Catfish
Azure, a fess embattled and in chief a catfish naiant contourny, a bordure Or. Entry into this Order is offered to Martial participants, be it in Armoured Combat, Rapier Combat, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Scouting, or Equestrian, who have competed in a war, battle, or campaign while representing the Barony. The Gold Embattlement is added to the participant’s Fish tabard, baldric or favor upon entry to the Order. The badge was registered in September 1993 via the Middle Kingdom.
The Order of the Gilded Shell
Azure semy of catfish, an escallop inverted Or. Entry into this Order is offered to gentles who have improved the Barony through embellishment and ornamentation, and whose gifts and creations have improved the aesthetics and atmosphere at Baronial events. The badge was registered in July 1992 via the Middle Kingdom. (Scribes: Note that the spelling of Gilded without the ā€˜uā€™ is how the Order was registered.)
The Order of the Golden Scales
Or scaly sable, on a fess azure a catfish Or. Entry into this Order is offered to gentles who have donated their time and talents by serving as an event steward of a Jararvellir event. The badge was registered in July 1992 via the Middle Kingdom.
The Order of the Pisces
Sable, two fish naiant in annulo and a bordure Or. This most notable of Jararvellir’s Orders is offered to members who have distinguished themselves by providing long-term service. The badge was registered in February 1995 via the Middle Kingdom.
The Order of the Silken Purse
Azure, in cross three barbels and a pouch, a bordure Or. Entry into this Order is offered to those generous gentles who have repeatedly shared their resources with others in a cheerful and selfless manner.
The Order of the Zephyrus
Azure, three bars wavy argent between two barbels contourny Or. Entry into this Order is offered to gentles new to the society who have brought growth and new life to the Barony by their presence.
Writ of Gratitude
A service award, given as special thanks to a Baronial citizen who has performed extraordinary deeds of good repute on behalf of the Barony, that reflect well on Jararvellir. This is given at the discretion of the Baron and Baroness.

Closed Awards of the Barony of Jararvellir

The Order of the Golden Tate
(Fieldless) A goutte de sang charged with a kernel of wheat Or. Members of this Order were created during the tenure of Baroness Asdis Stefansdottir. In the first fifteen years of Jaravellir this served as the only Baronial honor, given for service to the group. This Order was closed with the departure of Asdis. The badge was registered in November 1981 via the Middle Kingdom.
The Order of the Brising Stone
No registered badge. This Order was created to reward positive interaction with the media and public on behalf of the Barony. This Order was closed with the departure of Asdis.
The Order of the Curia’s Catfish
No registered badge. This Order was closed with the departure of Asdis.
