Lord Conner and his kitchen minions will prepare a culinary tribute to the many feasts that have been served in Jararvellir over the past 35 years. Yes, we know that the term "Remove" is post-period. However, it has graced a great many feast menus in Jararvellir over the years, and so it has been included for the sake of nostalgia.
Remove the First: Wet Your Appetizers (because they all have a sauce, dressing or broth)
Sallat
Winter Squash Soup
Saugee (Sliced Pork with a sage sauce)
Remove the Second: It's Frumenty My Dear Whitefish
Grilled Whitefish with a Wine Sauce
Frumenty (Bulgar Wheat Pilaff)
Roasted Herbed Carrots
Remove the Third: Asparagations of Grateness (the hens have grated nutmeg)
Hens in Syrup Nested on Rice
Asparagus with Saffron
And a Birthday Cake for dessert.
We'll also have lemon water, sekanjibin and bread with honey butter (again, for nostalgia’s sake).
The servers will have ingredient lists available. Those with specific allergies or dietary needs may direct their questions to Lord Conner (Chuck Schwoch) at piratechuck (at) charter (dot) net to determine if the feast will agree with you.
You can dance 'til you drop at Jara's 35th Anniversary bash on May 3. Lady Thea will be conducting dance classes throughout the day (including a special beginners' class) and coordinating the ball at 4:00 p.m. That's right -- the ball is before feast, so it will not fall off the schedule.
There will be live music by the Jararvellir Musicians' Guild. Visiting musicians will also be welcome. The pieces are all old favorites from Northshield Dance Seminars past.
There will be room to display your arts and sciences projects at the event. Please see our mailing list for more information.
